I really do love Pinterest.
I think you should do what you love to do, otherwise it makes this a job, and we don’t want jobs, right?
We blog for money to get away from jobs.
Being a Pinterest lover, I bought PPG’s Pinterest Success Guide last year.
I read it.
She’s a really hip chick when it comes blogging, Pinterest, affiliate marketing, you name it..
I love me some PPG.
But when I got to the “repinning of my own pins” I just felt yucky.
No, seriously, I felt yucky.
I didn’t want to do that.
But, because I’m one to TRY THINGS, I still gave it a go.
I bought Tailwind so I could implement her method 100%
Tailwind is a Pinterest pin scheduler in case you don’t know?
Anyway, I decided to give this tool a try.
But when I got to the scheduling stuff.. my yucker went off again.
What’s a yucker???
It’s when something inside me says, yuck Lesley.
All the sudden, Pinterest was a job.
I wanted to give this a try because maybe I wasn’t getting something?
Still, it just felt so methodical.
I did try it, I did it for a couple weeks… it was the longest couple weeks of my life… I made Pinterest a job.
Here I was trying to figure out this Tailwind stuff when I wasn’t interested?
Right there… I had a block.
I was chasing something that I didn’t like for the expectation of more traffic and more money.
Now that’s not to say everyone using Tailwind is doing that..
Maybe you like schedules?
Maybe you like all that stuff?
That’s okay, I’m not knocking you
….different strokes for different folks..
I can’t make myself do things I don’t like to do because then I’ve made this a job.
No one should be doing something they don’t enjoy.
We all have gifts and talents and interests and they are not the same.
We don’t want to be the same.
I want to do my own thing.
I love making Pinterest images!
I love Pinterest!
….but I don’t like repinning my own stuff over and over…
I certainly don’t like schedulers…
That’s me and you are you.
So are you just doing this Tailwind stuff because everyone else is?
Do you really enjoy clicking on pins and putting them in a big schedule?
If you do! Awesome! DO THAT!
But as for me, I have cancelled my Tailwind account.
I am only interested in doing what I love for a living.
Once it becomes a job – game over.
So what am I doing on Pinterest?
The same is true of blogging.
You can take blogging courses…
Learn the basics…
Find out what others are doing…
YOU DEFINITELY SHOULD DO ALL THOSE THINGS!
But when all is said and done, you need to do what aligns with you!
UPDATE APRIL 6th!!
I started using Tailwind in February, you can see my traffic actually took a dive!!
As soon as I cancelled MARCH 24th my traffic actually came back up!!!
I cancelled my Tailwind account on March 24th and my stats are showing my stuff is UP!
My Statcounter Stats are showing an increase in traffic too!
I have no Easter or Spring related posts at all!
Even my blog wasn’t aligning with Tailwind!!!
I’m glad it works for others, but as for me – my Tailwind days are over.
I’m going back to the MANUAL way of pinning things!
